Research-Use-Only Policy

1. What we sell

Every product sold by Sigma Compounds is a research chemical, supplied for in vitro laboratory research only. Our products are not drugs, foods, dietary supplements or cosmetics. They are not for human or veterinary use, and must not be used in or on humans or animals. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and they have not been evaluated or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

2. Who may buy

We sell exclusively to qualified researchers and licensed laboratories, aged 21 or older (or the age of majority where they are, if higher). To view our catalog you need a free account, and to create one you confirm your research status as one of:

• University or academic laboratory
• Biotech or pharmaceutical company
• Contract research organization (CRO)
• Private research laboratory
• Independent researcher
• Other qualified research institution

3. What you confirm

When you create an account, you confirm:

• “I am 21 or older and a qualified researcher purchasing solely for in vitro laboratory research, not for human or veterinary use.”
• “I accept the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Research-Use-Only Policy.”

At checkout you state who you are purchasing as and confirm that the products in the order are purchased for research use only and not for human consumption. An order cannot be placed without both. We keep a record of each confirmation — what was confirmed, when, and from which connection and browser — with your account and your orders.

4. What we don’t provide

We do not provide, and our staff will not give, dosing, administration, preparation for personal use, or medical guidance of any kind. Nothing on this site or in our communications is medical advice. Product information is limited to identity, specifications, storage and certificates of analysis.

5. Handling

Products must be handled only by trained individuals, in a suitable laboratory setting, following the label, the storage guidance on each product page and applicable safety practices.

6. When we refuse or cancel an order

We may refuse or cancel any order, and close any account, where we reasonably believe a product is intended for human or veterinary use, where information given to us is inaccurate, or where a purchase appears to break this policy, our Terms of Service or the law.

7. Your responsibility

You are responsible for making sure your purchase, possession and use of our products comply with every law and regulation that applies to you and your institution.
